Spring Migration
If you want to experience the sights and sounds of spring migration, mid-March is the peak time to see white-fronted geese and snow geese at the Fort Boise Wildlife Management Area. Visitors have a bird's-eye view of the migration with the help of a wildlife viewing platform. By the end of April, most of the birds have continued their northward migration and have left the area.
Numbers are Growing
In the past thirty years the number of geese in the spring migration has grown from a few hundred to upwards of 40,000. The geese are moving from southern California to their nesting grounds in northern Alaska.
