Steelhead angler effort and catch rates were similar to the previous week on the upper Salmon River. The majority of anglers were observed fishing downstream of North Fork in location code 15. Effort upstream of North Fork was primarily from drift boat anglers. Effort continued to be low upstream of the Lemhi River in location code 17.
- Anglers interviewed below the Middle Fork in location code 14 averaged 10 hours per steelhead caught and 17 hours per steelhead kept.
- Anglers interviewed upstream of the Middle Fork in location code 15 averaged 14 hours per steelhead caught and 19 hours per steelhead kept.
- Anglers interviewed upstream of North Fork in location code 16 averaged 21 hours per steelhead caught and 36 hours per steelhead kept.
- No interviews were obtained from anglers fishing upstream of the Lemhi River in location code 17.
Currently, the Salmon River is flowing at 1,540 cfs through the town of Salmon, ID which is 119% of average for today’s date.
