Renovation at Map Rock Access Site is scheduled to begin November 27. This access site is located on the north bank of the Snake River in southern Canyon County. Fish and Game crews and outside contractors will complete a number of projects including installation of a new boat ramp, restroom and fencing, as well as improvements to existing roads and parking areas.

Map Rock is a popular waterfowl hunting access site, and crews will take steps to avoid disturbing or hindering hunting activities during construction. However, the ramp will need to be closed when concrete work occurs. This portion of the project is scheduled to occur after waterfowl season ends. The Map Rock renovation project will wrap up in early spring 2018.

Fish and Game manages several access points in this vicinity that are good options while Map Rock is being transformed. These and other access sites may be viewed on the Fish Planner. Open the Fish Planner, select Map Center, select Turn Layers on/off, and then click the check box to view all of Fish and Game's Fishing and Boating Access Sites.

Public inquiries about the Map Rock renovation project should be directed to the Fisheries Program at the Southwest Region (208-465-8465).
