The IDFG wildlife habitat crew recently cleared 400 downed logs, brushed, and improved the trail bed along the 6 miles of Spotted Louis Trail #104 on Snow Peak Wildlife Management Area. Hikers and horseback riders can use the trail to head downhill from the Snow Peak Lookout Trail #55 to the Little North Fork of the Clearwater River Trail #50. There is one puncheon bridge that is in disrepair and will be removed next year. The US Forest Service trail crew also cleared Trail #50 from the trailhead down about 9 miles to Spotted Louis Creek.
Take advantage of these great backcountry trails to access fantastic fishing on the Little NF of the Clearwater, big game and forest grouse hunting, and wildlife watching opportunities.
The Buck Creek fire closure area has recently been reduced and these trails are currently open to travel.
