Staff from Idaho Fish and Game, Bureau of Land Management, and the Department of Environmental Quality help the United State Geological Survey staff complete a fish species abundance survey of Rock Creek in Twin Falls.
The crew uses electricity to stun the fish so the fish float to the surface and are netted. The fish captured are measured, weighed and classified by species. Earlier in the week, crews conducted habitat and invertebrate surveys to determine the overall health of the stream.
The yearly monitoring has taken place since the early 1990s.
