The Fish and Game Clearwater Region does not normally declare winter feeding emergencies and has never established a Winter Feeding Advisory Committee as per IC36-123.
January 23, 2017 status report
Snow depths in backcountry areas are slightly above normal however, water equivalent is still 86 percent of average. Fish and Game has received reports of elk depredation on haystacks in the front country and is working with landowners to minimize damage. Temperatures over the last two days have moderated and some snow is beginning to melt. No winter feeding is planned in the Clearwater Region.
