The Fall Chinook fishery was very slow this past week on the Clearwater. We did not document any harvest and only had one reported release of a wild fish. The Confluence (creel section 1) only documented 4 adult hatchery Chinook and 3 Hatchery Jacks harvested. The attached picture is two of those adults harvested. Creel section 3 documented a harvested adult this past weekend at the Hells Canyon Dam tailrace.
Steelhead catch was not much better on the Clearwater or the Snake rivers. Most of the effort on river section 03 is still around the railroad bridge on the Clearwater in the catch and keep section and by the Mill for the catch and release section. - Jaime Robertson, Clearwater Region Senior Fisheries Technician
