Flows are stable and cold in the Kootenai River, and the rainbow trout are biting well! Two years ago Idaho Fish and Game and Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks pooled funds to open a primitive river access site off of Leonia Road in Montana. This access site is great for launching rafts, kayaks, drift boats, and small jet boats. Anglers can launch here and enjoy a half-day float to the the Twin Rivers Canyon Resort on the Moyie River or a full-day float to the Search and Rescue boat launch in Bonners Ferry. The access site opens each year on June 1 and closes each year on October 15.
