Salamander Searches!

idfg-lvanniel
Hello Everyone!

This week is the best opportunity to catch Coeur d' Alene salamanders we have had in a while. The weather will be perfect- for salamanders that is.
THIS MIGHT BE THE BEST CHANCE WE HAVE TO LOCATE THIS TOUGH TO FIND SPECIES THIS SUMMER.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!

http://weather.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/iwszone3

Here is what we need;
-A team of people willing to go out and search for salamanders at night, in the rain! The more people, the shorter and easier it is for everyone. Ages 11/12 and up.

I am willing to go out each night this week as long as I have one other person interested. I will lead the searches, drive, navigate, identify salamanders, etc... We need warm bodies to help look. The amount of training that you would like to receive during these searches is completely up to you! If you want a refresher on GPS navigation, salamander ID, data sheet protocols, etc... I can teach you those things while we are out, otherwise you will be in it for the fun experience!

Please reply to this or call me ASAP if you are willing to come out and search one, or multiple, nights this week. The amount of time we are out searching depends on the number of people who have signed up and the energy levels. We can call it a night at just about any time.
We will meet at 9 pm at the Waterlife Discovery Center/ Sandpoint Fish Hatchery, Sagle, ID. The search outing will last two hours. If you are willing to do multiple searches- we can stay out for as many as 6 hours. It's up to you!

Don't miss this chance to break out of your comfort zone and have a fantastic new experience. Plus you could be the one to find a Coeur d' Alene salamander!
Please call or email ASAP if you are interested. We need people for tonight through Friday night.

Let's see what's out there...
