The Morton Slough fishing and boating access site on the Pend Oreille River is bigger, better and ready for public use

The Idaho Fish and Game fishing and boating access site at Morton Slough on the Pend Oreille River recently received significant improvements. Fish and Game received feedback from previous users about overcrowding and a desire for increased parking capacity. Fish and Game heard what they were saying, and they listened.

Fish and Game recently received funding to improve the access site. Improvements included nearly 30 boat and trailer parking spaces, ten single vehicle parking spaces and two ADA-accessible parking spaces to go along with the already existing boat launch, restroom and dock at the site. In addition, Fish and Game restructured the layout of the site to improve efficiency and make it easier for folks to launch and load boats at the site.

Fish and Game manages nearly 40 fishing and boating access sites in the Panhandle for the purpose of providing anglers access to their desired fishing opportunities.
