Palouse River and Lloyd Ranch access areas

The opening weekend of youth pheasant season on the Palouse River Youth Only Upland Game Area was a great success. This youth area was completely booked on opening weekend with five hunter/mentor pairs per day. With the help of Jim Hagedorn and the Game Bird Foundation, we are looking forward to another successful weekend. All hunters must sign in online. The sign-in can be found on the Idaho Department of Fish and Game Access Yes! website under the Palouse Area. The Game Bird Foundation will be releasing birds every week through the rest of the season, so be sure you take advantage of this opportunity.

Not only can you hunt pheasants on the Palouse Area, but we also have an area open just south of Lewiston. Birds are being released on the Lloyd Ranch Partnership, and this area is open to hunters of all ages. This property also has an online sign-in that can be found on the Access Yes! website under the Lloyd Ranch Partnership page. Property owner Dick Lloyd requests that all hunters still check in with him prior to hunting the area. Pheasants will be released on this property throughout hunting season, so be sure to get out there.

For more details about pheasant hunting, see the Upland Game, Furbearer and Turkey Seasons and Rules, or get the printed brochure available at Fish and Game license vendors. If you need additional information about these pheasant hunting opportunities, please call the Fish and Game office in Lewiston at 208-799-5010.
