idfg-mdemick
The 7th Annual Youth Ice Fishing Day at Cascade Reservoir is just around the corner and kids and their parents are invited to spend a fun-filled day on the ice, fishing for yellow perch and rainbow trout. Sponsored by Idaho Youth Outdoors, Idaho Fish and Game and a host of other vendors, this free event kicks off at 10:00am, Saturday, January 16, wrapping up at 3:00 in the afternoon. Full details regarding the event - including a list of what to bring along - can be found on the Idaho Youth Outdoors website at www.idahoyouthoutdoors.org. "Waterproof boots are a must as there will be a layer of snow/slush on top of the ice," Event Organizer Sean Cluff noted. "And because of limited parking at the event, we ask that event goers car pool to save parking space." Event questions can be sent to IdahoYouthOutdoors@gmail.com. The event will be held on the west side of Cascade Reservoir at Poison Creek Campground. To reach the campground, travel to Donnelly and turn west onto Roseberry Road. Travel 1.7 miles west, turning left (south) onto Forest Service Road 427 which shortly becomes Tamarack Falls Road. Continue on Tamarack Falls Road to the junction with West Mountain Road, turning left (south) on West Mountain Road and traveling approximately 3.5 miles south to the Poison Creek Campground.
