Commission to meet by conference call August 11

The August 11 Idaho Fish and Game Commission meeting originally scheduled in Idaho Falls will now be a conference call. The call will begin at 9 a.m. at Fish and Game Headquarters, 600 S. Walnut. There will be no public testimony taken during the call, but the public is welcome to attend. Commissioners will consider proposed seasons for waterfowl, sage-grouse, and Coho salmon. Other agenda items include approval of the fiscal 2017 budget and proposed changes to rules for distances bear baits are allowed from roads and rules to allow forest grouse to be taken with a crossbow. Commissioners will also hear updates on legislative activity, elk monitoring efforts, IdahoÕs wildlife action plan, and incidental take of mountain lion.
