idfg-mdemick
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game will hold a Women's Hunting Clinic at the Chester Wetlands Wildlife Management Area (WMA) headquarters building near St. Anthony on August 22. The class will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude around 4:00 p.m. The focus of this class will be to provide an unintimidating environment for women of various ages to certify in hunter education and gain proficiency in both archery and firearms. The primary instructor of this class will be female Senior Conservation Officer Lauren Lane. Participants wishing to certify in hunter education will have an opportunity to do so by completing an online course prior to or shortly after this class. "All requirements of a hunter education field day will be met during this class, including a live fire skills clinic for both rifle and archery," said James Brower, Fish and Game Volunteer Coordinator. "Mother daughter groups are encouraged, and lunch is provided." The classroom and range are located at the Chester Wetlands WMA headquarters building at 2885 N. River Rd, St. Anthony, Idaho. The address can be misleading on some online maps, but is easy to find by crossing the Fun Farm bridge heading North and take a right after crossing the bridge. The road dead ends at the Chester Wetlands WMA Headquarters. Please come and join us if you are interested in becoming a huntress! Participants will be selected via an application process available at the Upper Snake Fish and Game office located at 4279 Commerce Circle in Idaho Falls. For more information or with questions contact James Brower at 208-525-7290 or james.brower@idfg.idaho.gov.
