Idaho Fish and Game

Hunter Education Classes Available in Upper Snake Region

idfg-mdemick
Now is a great time for youth and adults to sign up for Hunter Education classes. The Upper Snake Region of the Idaho Fish and Game has had many of their volunteer instructors offer to provide multiple class opportunities in both Hunter Education and Combination Hunter/Bowhunter courses this summer. Recent classroom registrations have been down leaving many seats unfilled and leading some classes to be cancelled. Fish and Game urges students looking to hunt this year or in the future to take advantage of the current spots available and the variety of options. Almost every week this summer, the Upper Snake Region will have courses available. Recently, Fish and Game has also launched a new online registration system for their classes. As always with the implementation of a new system there will be some growing pains. The old Hunter Education registration system offered a notification list that allowed individuals to sign up and receive e-mails about upcoming classes similar to a job services announcement. The new registration system no longer contains a notification option. If you have signed up for the notification list in the past, please note that you will no longer receive upcoming class notifications. You will, however, have the ability using the new registration system to sign up for a waiting list on a per class basis. In the event that someone drops out of a class that was filled to capacity the new class wait list will notify the first individual on the list and give them an opportunity to fill that spot. In the event that you do not find an open class that fits your needs, you will need to check the Idaho Fish and Game website regularly for newly posted classes. To sign up for classes or to check out the new registration system, please click the Hunter Education link on Fish and Game's website at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/ For help with questions, please call James Brower, Upper Snake Region Hunter Education Coordinator at (208) 525-7290.
