Controlled Hunt Deadline Approaching

idfg-mdemick
The application period for this fall's deer, elk, pronghorn, black bear, and turkey controlled hunts ends Friday, June 5 - about two weeks away. Hunters may apply for controlled hunts at any hunting and fishing license vendor, Fish and Game office; with a credit card by calling 1-800-55HUNT5; or online at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov. An additional fee is charged for telephone and Internet applications. Hunters must have a 2015 Idaho hunting license to apply. Hunters can make informed decisions about what controlled hunts to apply for, thanks to a new feature on Fish and Game's website. The easy-to-use online tool lists the 2014 drawing odds and statistics for deer, elk, pronghorn, moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goats hunts all in one place. The easy-to-use online tool makes researching hunts easier by listing useful information by controlled hunt number and hunt areas including: number of tags available, number of first choice applicants, number drawn for their first choice, percentage who drew in 2014, number of tags issued, estimated number of hunters, estimated number of animals harvested, and harvest success. The new feature is available at: https://fishandgame.idaho.gov/content/huntplanner/2014-hunt-stats Hunters can also use the Hunt Planner to access harvest statistics and drawing odds from the past 10 years. The Hunt Planner is available at: http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/ifwis/huntPlanner/.
