Fish and Game To Tell Fish Stories To Anglers

idfg-mdemick
Anglers love to tell fish stories, but this month the Idaho Department of Fish and Game wants to tell its own stories. Fish and Game will be hosting a monthly series of evening meetings through the summer to help share in-depth information on some of the management programs they run. According to Regional Fisheries Manager Dan Garren, "These meetings are intended to share research and management activities on important regional waters and highlight our management direction and the challenges we face when trying to provide high-quality recreational experiences for our anglers. " The first meeting will focus on anadromous fish management in the Upper Salmon River Basin, the season setting process, and a forecast of what to expect for the coming chinook fishery. The meeting will be held on May 14th at the Upper Snake Regional Office in Idaho Falls at 4279 Commerce Circle beginning at 6:30 p.m. Anglers can ask questions following the presentation by Greg Schoby, Regional Fisheries Manager in the Salmon Region. Three additional meetings will occur in June, July, and August on the second Thursday of the month, and will focus on Henrys Lake, the South Fork Snake River, and the Henrys Fork. If assistance is required to attend contact Dan Garren at 525-7290 or through the Idaho Relay Service at 1-800-377-3529 (TDD), by email at dan.garren@idfg.idaho.gov
