Idaho Fish and Game

Hunters Participate in Live Web Chat

On Wednesday March 4, Fish and Game wildlife managers from all over Idaho fielded questions and heard comments regarding big game proposals for 2015. More than 600 people participated in two live chats, asking general questions and some very specific questions about the proposals. Feedback during the chats crossed the spectrum, but most participants seemed to appreciate the opportunity to weigh in and receive real-time answers to their questions. Wildlife managers say the chats are a great tool for hearing the concerns of people who might not otherwise be heard. "The web chat provided a valuable opportunity for the department to gather feedback from a segment of our customers that we often do not reach with the normal public meeting process," said State Wildlife Manager Jon Rachel. "The feedback received will help guide our recommendations as we continue to develop big game seasons for next year."
