Idaho Fish and Game

Maintenance Work Scheduled for Walters Ferry Boat Ramp

idfg-sliebenthal
Spring boaters will be the beneficiaries of a maintenance project soon to get underway at Fish and Game's Walters Ferry boat ramp. In early February, Department crews will be removing sediment from the narrow channel that leads from the boat ramp to the Snake River. The two-phase, two-week project will begin February 2nd and should be wrapped up by February 12th. The project schedule fits nicely between waterfowl seasons that are winding down and powerboat seasons that have yet to begin. Anticipating some use during this slow period, project leaders encourage boaters to use alternative launch points. "The schedule calls for Walters Ferry ramp to be closed during the second week of the project, February 9th through 12th," Fish and Game recreational site maintenance foreman Dennis Hardy said. "Nearby alternative launch sites include Bernard Landing downstream and Celebration Park upstream." For more information regarding the Walters Ferry project, contact Hardy at the Fish and Game Nampa office - 465-8465.
