Eliminate antlerless hunting and reduce antlered tags by nearly 40% in Unit 54 based on recent aerial survey results. The 2023 population estimate of 8,342 deer was 30% lower than the 2017 estimate. Nearly all of the observed decline occurred in Unit 54 which was anticipated given recent wildfire activity (>175,000 acres).
