The Idaho Department of Fish and Game will hold the fifth annual youth pheasant clinic on Saturday, November 3, in Lewiston. The clinic is free and intended for first time hunters 12 through 17 years of age. Each young hunter that registers must have already completed hunter education and hold a valid hunting license. The purpose of the clinic is to help expose young hunters to the thrill of upland game hunting. Clinic topics include safe gun handling, hunter ethics, shotgun skills, and pheasant ecology and successful hunting techniques. A sponsor who is at least 18 years of age is encouraged to accompany the youth throughout the hunt. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Youth wishing to participate must contact the Clearwater Region office at 799-5010 no later than 5:00 P.M. on Friday, October 26. Detailed information will be provided to those who register in advance. No walk-ins will be accepted. The clinic is sponsored in conjunction with Pheasants Forever, Snake River Gun Dog Association, Tri State Outfitters, Rogers Motors, Lewiston Gun Club, Wal Mart and Bryden Pawn Shop.
