LEWISTON - To help expose young hunters to the thrill of upland game hunting, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Pheasant Forever, Snake River Gun Dog & Sportsmen's Association and Lewiston Gun Club will hold a youth pheasant clinic on Saturday, November 1, in Lewiston. The clinic is free and intended for first-time hunters 12 through 15 years of age. Each young hunter that registers is required to have already completed hunter education and hold a valid hunting license. Clinic topics include safe gun handling, hunter ethics, shotgun skills, pheasant ecology and successful hunting techniques. A sponsor who is at least 18 years of age is encouraged to accompany the youth throughout the clinic. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Youth wishing to participate should contact the Clearwater Region office at 799-5010 no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27. Detailed information will be provided to those who register in advance. No walk-ins will be accepted. Other sponsors include Rogers Motors and Little Canyon Shooting Preserve.
