Wildlife Mitigation Open House Planned October 15 Near Menan

idfg-staff
IDAHO FALLS - An Open House will be held on Tuesday evening, October 15, 2002 from 6:00-8:30 pm to provide information and discuss any concerns regarding two proposed wildlife mitigation projects in Jefferson County. Both projects are funded by Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) as part of the Southern Idaho Wildlife Mitigation Program. Idaho Department of Fish and Game, The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, and U.S. Bureau of Land Management are also partners in this program. Staff from all entities will be at the meeting to discuss these projects. The projects involve fee-title acquisitions of two separate parcels of land (80 acres and 120 acres) from willing sellers. BLM would hold title to both parcels, while IDFG and the Tribes would cooperatively manage the lands. Both parcels would be managed for wildlife habitat under the direction of the BPA Wildlife Mitigation Program and the Deer Parks Wildlife Mitigation Unit Plan. The meeting will be held at the Deer Parks Wildlife Mitigation Unit Headquarters located at 3595 E. 960 N., approximately three miles north of Menan on the west side of Twin Buttes Road. For additional information contact Kim Ragotzkie at Idaho Dept. Fish and Game, 525-7290.
