Cameron Wheeler of Ririe was selected by Governor Dirk Kempthorne as the Fish and Game Commissioner from the Upper Snake Region. Wheeler replaces Roy Moulton of Driggs and will serve a four-year term. Alex Irby of Orofino was reappointed to a second four-year term as commissioner from the Clearwater Region. Wheeler raises wheat and barley on a 1,500-acre farm and also is a real estate broker dealing in farms and ranches. He is a former member of the legislature's House of Representatives, where he represented District 28 and chaired the Resources and Conservation committee in 2000 and 2001. Wheeler is an avid angler. Irby is the resource manager for the Konkolville Timber Company and an accomplished hunter and angler. Both appointments are subject to approval by the Senate when the legislature meets next January.
