Waterfowl Season Open Houses Slated

idfg-staff
Waterfowl hunters have a chance to comment on proposed 2003-2004 duck and goose seasons and other waterfowl-related proposals during two upcoming open houses hosted by Idaho Fish and Game. On Monday, August 11 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Fish and Game personnel will be on hand to visit with the public at both the McCall and Nampa Fish and Game offices. The open house format allows visitors to attend anytime during the session. Call 634-8137 (McCall) or 465-8465 (Nampa) for more information. For those who can't make an open house, Fish and Game is taking waterfowl season comments on their web site at www2.state.id.us/fishgame. Fish and Game's southwest region waterfowl season proposal is as follows: Two days of youth waterfowl hunting (September 27-28), a 105-day duck and goose season opening on October 11 and closing on January 23, and a 60-day pintail season opening on October 11 and closing on December 9. Information collected at public open houses across the state will be summarized and presented to the Fish and Game Commission, which will set the final waterfowl seasons later this month.
