Idaho Fish and Game

Upland Game/Furbearer Open Houses Slated

idfg-staff
The public is invited to comment on this year's upland game and trapping seasons at any of two upcoming open houses hosted by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. Open houses are slated for Monday, April 15 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Fish and Game's Nampa office, 3101 S. Powerline Road and the McCall office, 555 Deinhard Lane. For more information call the Nampa office at 465-8465 or the McCall office at 634-8137. While other regions in the state are seeking comment on proposed season changes, none are being proposed for southwest Idaho. "While we have no regional proposals on the table, folks will want to review statewide changes that, if approved, will impact this region," Fish and Game wildlife manager Jon Rachael noted. "And of course, we're happy to listen to proposals from anyone who would like to bring a proposal forward during the open house." Fish and Game personnel will be available to discuss any aspect of upland game management during the open house. Specifically, discussion will center around upland game bird rules and seasons (including the 2002 mourning dove season), and furbearer and falconry rules and seasons. Public comments from across the state will be assembled and presented to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission for review at their April meeting in Moscow. After evaluating the comments, the Commission will determine whether any rule or season changes are warranted.
