Idaho Fish and Game

Unlimited Deer Hunt Application Reopened

idfg-staff
Meeting in Twin Falls July 10, the Idaho Fish and Game Commission voted to reopen the application period for "unlimited" controlled deer hunts through August 29. The normal application period is May 1-31. The extended application period will provide an opportunity for any hunters who missed the May application period. Hunters who applied in May and were not successful are not eligible. Since the hunts are open to an unlimited number of applicants, there will not be an actual "drawing" at the end of August. Applications will be processed as they come in. Transactions will be handled at Fish and Game offices only. The easiest way to get one of these tags would be to fill out the controlled hunt application/worksheet on page17 of the big game rules booklet and mail it to:
Idaho Dept. of Fish and Game Licenses Section P.O. Box 25 Boise, ID 83707
Applicants should be sure to include the hunt number (not area) for which they are applying and the fees: $6.50 for the application, $6.50 for the permit and the tag fee of $18 for residents or $235 for nonresidents.
$6.50 + $6.50 + $18 = $31 for residents or $6.50 + $6.50 + $235 = $248 for nonresidents
This opportunity is ONLY open to hunters who DID NOT APPLY for a deer hunt during the May application period, and meet the other requirements for eligibility as stated in the rules book. It ONLY applies to unlimited deer hunts. This rule is in place for this year only unless the Commission takes further action.
