Turkey Talk

idfg-staff
Turkeys will be the topic of a presentation by Rob Brazie, Idaho Fish and Game Conservation Officer, at the MK Nature Center November 15. The program will be presented in the auditorium at the Nature Center from 10:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. There is no charge for the program. Brazie will explain the history of wild turkeys in America, including how the turkey might have become the national symbol instead of the bald eagle. He will recount the story of Idaho's trades of native wildlife to other states for the turkeys that formed the foundation of today's extensive Idaho populations. Brazie will explain turkey biology including nesting behavior, how to tell the difference between male and female turkeys, and how to call them. Turkey hunting techniques and hunters' experiences will also be discussed.
