Three Elk Poached Near Deer Gulch

Two spike elk bulls and one cow were shot and left to rot near the Deer Gulch and Hat Creek roads south of Salmon about October 15. All three elk were found within 50 yards of each other and about 100 yards from the road. None of the carcasses were gutted, and no meat was removed. Some local hunters found the carcasses and reported the incident to Idaho Department of Fish and Game employees at the Pahsimeroi Hatchery. Some evidence was collected at the crime scene. But help is needed in locating the party responsible for the killings.
