Talkin' Turkey with Teachers in Project WILD Workshop

idfg-mcoleman
Teachers, have you heard about the newest Project WILD workshop? It's called WILD About Turkeys, and it will be flying in just in time for Thanksgiving. Join us from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 7, and then again from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, at Snake River High School near Blackfoot. This new workshop for educators who work in the K-12 curriculum will focus on the biology, ecology and management of wild turkeys in Idaho. Participants will be introduced to Project WILD activities geared toward turkeys, and receive activity guides with more than 150 wildlife-related activities applicable to many other species and conservation concepts. As with all Project WILD workshops, participants will get hands-on experience with activities, projects, materials and a variety of educational tools they can take back to their classrooms. And this workshop will treat participants to a field trip to see wild turkeys. The registration fee for WILD About Turkeys is $20. Participants may also attend the workshop for college credit at an additional cost. To register, please contact Jennifer Jackson at the Fish and Game office in Pocatello at 232-4703 or on the Fish and Game Website at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov.
