Spring Steelhead Limits Raised

idfg-staff
Idaho anglers can continue to enjoy the second-largest run of hatchery steelhead on record when the spring steelhead season begins January 1 with higher limits. Meeting in Boise December 11-13, the Idaho Fish and Game Commission approved recommendations of department staff to raise steelhead limits for the 2003 spring season from two per day, four in possession and 10 for the season to three per day, nine in possession and 40 (with two permits) for the season. More than 205,000 steelhead have now cleared Lower Granite Dam. The proposed limits are the same as for the fall season, 2002.
