Southeast Deer Leftovers to be Sold

Leftover southeast deer tags will be available to nonresident hunters beginning at 10 a.m. March 17. For the first time, hunters were required to apply for the permits rather than buy them on a first-come, first-served basis this year. After the application period, 216 permits were left over. Nonresident hunters are limited in deer hunts in designated units in the Southeast Region. The permits will be available at all license vendors, the 800 numbers listed in the rules brochure and on the Internet. The cost of the tag is $241.50 ($235.00 for the tag and $6.50 for the application fee).
