Open House Meetings Set for 2000 Big Game Rules

The Magic Valley Regional Fish and Game staff will host three public meetings next week to gather input and comments on the proposed 2000 big game rules. These rules will cover season lengths, permit levels, opening dates, etc. for deer, elk, antelope, black bear and cougar this coming fall. Regional matters to be covered include alternatives to expand youth big game hunts, an extended black bear season in unit 43, increased antlerless deer permits in units 43, 44, and 45, increased elk permit levels in units 48 and 49, and the Big Desert elk hunt. The meetings will be held on the following dates at the specified locations: 1) Tuesday, Feb. 15, Burley, City Hall; 2) Wednesday, Feb. 16, Hailey, Old Courthouse upstairs; 3) Thursday, Feb. 17, Twin Falls, Canyon Springs Inn, Oak Room. All meeting times are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
