Mule Deer Habitat Improving

MALTA - The Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Bureau of Land Management, Idaho State Bow Hunters, and the Mule Deer Foundation are looking for volunteers to help plant bitterbrush Saturday, April 2. This is the third annual bitterbrush planting event on mule deer winter range lands within the Bureau of Land Management Burley Field Office. In the past two years, volunteers have planted more than 15,500 bitterbrush plants. Interested volunteers will meet at the Sawtooth National Forest Service Office in Malta, Idaho at 8:00 a.m. The group will then travel to mule deer winter range south of Conner, Idaho. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers at the completion of the planting.
