Mule Deer Capture Scheduled

Idaho Department of Fish and Game plans to capture up to 25 mule deer in game management units 11, 13, 14, and 18 in the Clearwater Region during the first week of December. A helicopter will be used to locate female deer that will be immobilized with the use of a net gun. Radio collars will be placed on the deer to allow monitoring of their movements and to determine over-winter survival rates. This effort in the Clearwater Region is part of a larger plan to monitor mule deer across the state and apply the information to making management decisions related to hunting seasons.
