Idaho Fish and Game

Most Salmon Seasons to Close August 5

idfg-staff
Seasons on hatchery chinook salmon on the Little Salmon, Snake, Clearwater (all forks) and Lochsa rivers and Panther Creek will close August 5. Seasons on the Lower Salmon and South Fork Salmon rivers have already closed. Seasons in the Boise and North Fork Payette rivers will remain open through September 3. As of July 20, 43,082 hatchery salmon had been harvested by anglers who fished a total of 537,200 hours. These totals do not include Panther Creek or the Boise or Payette rivers where salmon were trucked in from the Rapid River or South Fork Salmon fish traps. Fish and Game will conduct an angler survey in the next month to determine the economic benefit of the salmon season.
