Magic Valley Region Family Fishing Waters, big hit

idfg-staff
JEROME - Looking for a great place to fish with easy to understand regulations? Try one of the 11 Family Fishing Waters in the Magic Valley Region. The great part about Family Fishing Waters is they have year-round seasons; general six fish limits; no length limits; and standard fishing gear is all that is needed. "Simplicity" was the idea behind creation of the Family Fishing Waters program by Idaho Department of Fish and Game in 2001. In each region of the state, IDFG officials identified a number of ponds, lakes, reservoirs' and rivers that have easy access; most have restroom facilities, and anglers have a pretty good chance of catching fish. Family Fishing Waters in the Magic Valley Region, include: Blair Trail Reservoir, Little Camas Reservoir, Little Wood Reservoir, Magic Reservoir, Roseworth Reservoir, Camas Ponds, Featherville Ponds, Gavers Lagoon, Penny Lake, Dollar Lake, and Rock Creek in Twin Falls County. Locations and maps to the areas can be found on page 38, in the 2004-2005 Fishing Seasons and Rules book. Plenty of fish are cruising these waters. Here is a list of the current number of fish the Idaho Department of Fish and Game has stock, and the projected number for the season. Projected numbers may vary, depending on water levels and conditions.
