The Magic Valley Bowhunters of Twin Falls recently received a $3000 grant from the Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation for shooting range improvements at their facility in the basement of "The Ballroom," 205 Shoshone St. North. In addition to the indoor range, the Magic Valley Bowhunters maintain an outdoor range near Dierke's Lake. The Magic Valley Bowhunters offer indoor league shooting as well as outdoor 3-D shoots. Phyllis Kochert, Secretary of the Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation, presented the check to the club officers. The mission of the Foundation is to protect and sustain Idaho's fishing, hunting and wildlife heritage for present and future generations. The Foundation is committed to bringing together citizens, businesses, industry, government, conservation and environmental groups to promote conservation education about fishing, hunting, habitat and wildlife management. The Foundation is headquartered in Boise and was established in 1990. Their first major project was coordinating the building of the Morrison Knudsen Nature Center. Local people who serve on the board of directors of the Foundation are Dan Deagle, Twin Falls, Phyllis Kochert, Gooding and Dr. Wes Rose, Jerome. The Foundation has been involved with many other projects around the state since 1990. This is the second project the Foundation has helped fund in the Magic Valley Region.
