idfg-nnokkentved
Women and girls 10 years or older wanting to complete Idaho's hunter education course but prefer the company of other women are encouraged to register for an upcoming ladies-only Hunter Education course in Lewiston. The course will be taught by a female instructor over two weeks: from 6 to 8:30 p.m. each evening of January 19-23 and January 26-30. The field and live-fire exercises are planned for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, January 31. "Many women have told us they want to attend a hunter education course, but are uncomfortable taking the course with mostly boys and men," said James Reed, hunter education coordinator. "This ladies-only course will provide a relaxing, non-intimidating learning environment for women to enjoy." Students can register online at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/education/hunter_ed/ or at Fish and Game's Clearwater Regional Office, 3316 16th St., Lewiston. Students will gain hands-on learning experiences dealing with firearm safety, hunter ethics, wildlife identification and management, outdoor survival and more. Upon successful completion, participants will be issued an Idaho hunter safety card and be certified to hunt in Idaho. An $8 materials fee for each student is required at registration.
