Idfg Seeks Public Input On Moose, Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goats, Turkeys And Non-Biological Hunting

IDAHO FALLS - The Idaho Department of Fish & Game is holding a public meeting on management and season setting for moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goats and turkeys. The meeting will also cover non-biological rules for hunting big game animals. Non-biological rules include rules such as what type of hunting equipment is legal for taking game animals. Idaho Fish & Game would like to see how the public feels about proposals on these subjects. The meeting will be held on Thursday December 2nd at 7:00 pm in Idaho Falls New proposals include significant changes in moose tag numbers, a possibility of reopening the Palisades mountain goat hunt and discussion of the use of conical bullets in traditional muzzleloader hunts. The meeting will be held on Thursday December 2nd at 7:00 pm at the Idaho Falls Fish & Game Office located at 4279 Commerce Circle (off of St. Leon near Highway 20 in the St. Leon Industrial Park). Department personnel will present recommendations, answer questions and get public comments. According to Regional Wildlife Biologist Jeff Short, "Now is the time to comment on moose, sheep and goat management and non-biological hunting rules. " Comments will be reviewed by the commission and a decision made at the January commission meeting.
