Hunters Asked About Possible Controlled Hunt Changes

idfg-staff
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has received numerous comments from hunters who seem to have bad luck when it comes to drawing a permit for controlled hunts. Numerous changes to the drawing process have been suggested including a system of bonus points that would theoretically increase the odds of hunters who have repeatedly applied but have not been drawn. The department has created a survey to get a better idea about how the majority of hunters feel about this and other possible changes designed to improve the odds of unsuccessful applicants. The survey was randomly sent out to 1600 license holders. Those who have not received a survey but wish to complete one can do so in one of two ways: pick up a survey at your nearest regional office or complete it online at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will consider responses to the survey as they determine how best to serve hunters applying for controlled hunts.
