Fish Salvage for Little Camas

idfg-staff
Effective Friday, June 15, 2001, a public fish salvage has been declared for Little Camas Reservoir in Elmore County. Little Camas lies just north of Highway 20, between Fairfield and Mountain Home. The reservoir will be dry, or nearly dry, by mid summer; drought conditions and lack of runoff have caused this water shortage. Fish left in the reservoir will die as water levels continue to drop. A public salvage allows the use of buckets, nets, seines, shovels, and other such devices used by hand. The limits on all fish in this reservoir were lifted May 4. Fish may not be taken with firearms, explosives, chemicals, or electric current. A valid fishing license is still required to harvest fish under a public salvage operation. This public salvage authorization is effective from June 15, 2001 through November 30, 2001.
