Fish & Game Measures Trophies

idfg-staff
JEROME - Hunters with antlers, horns or skulls wanting to find out what they score, will have the chance Feb. 3, 4 and 5 at the Fish and Game big game planning meetings. While learning and discussing the possible hunting season changes with Fish and Game staff members, in Burley, Twin Falls and Hailey, hunters can have their trophy animals officially measured by certified Boone & Crockett, Pope & Young and Longhunter Society measurers. "We are doing this as a service to the hunting community and for fun," says Clayton Nielson, Fish and Game employee and scorer. "This is just a good time to talk to hunters and see how their past hunting seasons have gone." Because the open house meetings only last three hours at each location, only a few animals will be measured at that time. Hunters still wanting animals measured can then contact the scorers to set-up a time to have it done later. The measuring is free of charge and will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 3, at the Burley City Hall; Feb. 4, at the KMVT Community Room, or Feb. 5, at the Blaine County Courthouse.
