Fish and Game Works to Improve Handicap Access

Hunters and anglers with disabilities increasingly have access opportunities at Idaho Department of Fish and Game facilities. Fish and Game Communications Bureau Chief Roger Fuhrman outlined the effort to provide access to the Idaho of Fish and Game Commission during the recent big-game season-setting meeting in Boise. Persons with disabilities will find information about accessible sites all across the state at the Fish and Game website: http://www.fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/wildlife/ada/. The website lists 140 fishing sites across the state in addition to Wildlife Management Areas with handicapped access for hunting, fishing and wildlife viewing. The website also lists accessible facilities at each location. "Idaho is well ahead of other states on this issue," Fuhrman told commissioners. The website also includes links to other land management agency contacts for information about accessibility on federal public lands.
