idfg-mcoleman
Hunting with a well-trained dog can eliminate wounded bird losses and increase rewards of the hunt. Dog owners interested in learning the basics of dog training can get started with a workshop at the Morrison Knudson Nature Center from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 19. The workshop will include the benefits of a trained dog, instruction on puppy selection, close patterning, equipment, nutrition and health, retrieving and much more. The seminar style program will provide information specifically intended for beginning or first time dog trainers. No dogs, please. The classroom portion of the workshop runs from 9 to 11 a.m., and the demonstration portion in the parking lot will be from 11 a.m. to noon. Cost is $2 per person with proceeds going to the Nature Center. For more information contact instructor John Sayles at 208-377-4956.
