Big game hunters can find out now whether the Fish and Game computerized draw went their way or not. Results for elk, deer, antelope and fall black bear hunts are online at http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/hunt/ch/deab.cfm where hunters can find out instantly whether or not they drew simply by entering their hunting license numbers. Fish and Game has also sent notification to successful applicants by regular mail. Fish and Game policy calls for notification by July 10, but recent advances in technology have allowed the department to complete the controlled hunt drawing process much more quickly than was possible just a few years ago. Posting results to the department Internet web site on an interactive page has created the most used feature on the site. The department took more than 100,000 applications in the big game drawing this year, up slightly from last year. Hunters who were successful in the controlled hunt drawing can now purchase permits and tags to be ready for fall hunts. August 1 is the deadline to purchase these tags.
