idfg-staff
The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will discuss changes in mule deer hunts in response to poor winter survival, lift some fishing limits and add some upland game seasons during its quarterly meeting that starts Wednesday in Coeur d'Alene. The commissioners will kick off the three day meeting with a public hearing at 7 p.m. May 17 at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. The meeting runs through mid-day Friday, May 19. Commissioners are expected to set seasons and limits on upland game, upland birds and furbearers; to take action on proposed upland rule changes; and to make changes in the rainbow trout rules for Lake Pend Oreille and tributaries. In addition, Jill Green of Lewiston is scheduled to be honored as the 2005 Hunter Education State Instructor of the year. Commissioners will also consider the department's 2007 budget. The meeting is open to the public, but comment will only be taken during the open session on Wednesday. Individuals with disabilities may request meeting accommodations by contacting the director's office at the Idaho Department of Fish and Game directly at 208-334-5159 or through the Idaho Relay Service at 1-800-377-2529 (TDD).
