Idaho Fish and Game

Commission to Meet in Lewiston, April 23-24

idfg-staff
The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will meet at the Red Lion Motel, 621 21st Street in Lewiston, April 24. A public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. April 23 at the same location. Comment may be on any Fish and Game topic, not just the items on the agenda. The commission will be requested to approve a "rain check" or refund rule for military personnel who are unable to hunt because of military deployment or assignment in the war with Iraq and review and/or approve nominees to the Sportsman Review Committees for the Access Yes program. These are the groups in each region who will review landowner bids for including their property in the pay-for-access program. The commission will hear a report on preference points for controlled hunts and another on a "canned" hunt operation proposed for eastern Idaho. The draft white sturgeon management plan will be presented, as well as the proposal to drain Lake Cascade and re-establish the trout and perch fisheries.
