Commission Gavel Passes to Burns

Salmon Region commissioner John Burns of Carmen has been selected to chair the seven-member Idaho Fish and Game Commission for the coming year. Magic Valley Region commissioner Fred Wood will serve as vice-chair. The "passing of the gavel" took place January 27 at the commission's annual meeting. Burns is a retired National Forest supervisor. He was appointed to the commission by Governor Phil Batt in 1996. His current appointment to the commission ends June 30 of this year.
