Q. Isn't it about time to apply for controlled hunts?
A. It is time to think about choices for 2009 controlled hunts. Applications for moose, mountain goat and bighorn controlled hunts are accepted April 1 through April 30. Applications for elk, deer, pronghorn and fall black bear controlled hunts are accepted from May 1 through June 5. Hunters need a 2009 Idaho hunting license to apply. The drawings for spring turkey and black bear are over.
